Excitedly Entering
Come excitedly enter the realm of confident rest.
Let’s be real. Those of you that know me, know that there is not much that excites me. I mean, for me to get excited, I have got to be really excited. I am not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but it is who I am and if I am I AM’s, and if I was created by Him, then I believe it is a good thing. Genesis 1:31 says, “God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.” This concluded the 6th day of creation. Thennnnnn, on the 7th day, God rested. How exciting it must have been for God to sit and gaze, mesmerized by all of His creation.
Then God blessed the 7th day and separated it as holy; because on that day God rested from all His work which He had created."

What excites me the most???
When I love God, all things work out for my good. I wholeheartedly believe that every detail of my life is continually woven together for good, because God loves me and because I love Him and because I said, “Yes” to Him.
So what is so exciting right now???? Walking through life with Holy Spirit is so exciting. The students at the school get to have a former 7 year - NFL football player as their substitute teacher. Say What Now? That’s right, not only do I get to rest in being in time with the ONE WHO created the idea of rest, but I get to rest in knowing that those that I care deeply for are well taken care of by a very good man who rests.
Jumping Around the World
In preparation for the professional project, I have been gathering, experimenting, and failing. So far, I have over 30 jump ropes to take to Israel and a set of cornhole boards and bags. Donations of ropes have come from co-workers and students upon hearing about the journey. I also have Ridgeway Stars t-shirts that I will share with people who jump rope with me during the journey. Hopefully, you will see some of them in the final video I will prepare upon returning from Israel.
In my experimenting and failing, I have trashed numerous videos I have tried to generate using multiple editing systems. I have a new value for people who are digital creators. Those 30-second videos we scroll through on social media take way more than 30 seconds to build. Not only have I failed in the technology realm, I have also broken a couple of jump rope handles by learning new jump rope skills. Thankfully Gopher Sport replaced two batches for me, which gave me a few extra jump ropes to donate to the children I will encounter along the journey.
Although there have been multiple areas in which I have failed, I do believe this quote that my dearest colleague shares with his students is true, “Failure is not final. Failure is formative.” - Dwayne Stacy (Highland Elementary Physical Educator) Thank you, brother!
